While we were in Petaluma for a short family vacation this summer, we had the pleasure of visiting the Petalum Seed Bank which is home to Baker Creek's huge heirloom seed collection as well as books, tool and homestead supplies.
We eat a lot of lettuce so I bought the bulk seed packet for their best selling Rocky Top Lettuce Mix. When we got home I was curious how much of a deal I has made...1 oz of seed for $7 vs the 1,000 seeds for the normal $3.
Using the chart below I was able to determine that for $7 I received 17,000 - 34.000 seeds for twice the price. AMAZING DEAL! Lesson learned? BUY IN BULK FOLKS!!!
